Get Lab Results Fast
...by FAX, by Postal Mail, and now through a Secure Internet Connection.
Now you can access your patients lab results electronically. We'll still FAX and mail patient test results,
but our clients are now requesting to receive their lab results electronically as well. That's why we've
set up a server with a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encrypted firewall and password protection so that
you can access test reports quickly through a secure connnection between your computer browser and our
server. It's EASY! It's FAST! And it's SECURE!
Here's how it works...
Step 1: Request to Receive Lab Results Electronically
If you're already a client of ours, simply let us know that you'd like to start receiving your patient allergy testing
results electronically. We'll set up a folder on our secure server with password protection and start placing your
patient's test reports in the folder so you can view them through your browser. We'll assign you a Username and Password
so that you may login to retrieve your lab reports as soon as they are ready.
Step 2: Lab Tests
Send us your patient's blood samples for allergy testing to us as you normally would.
Step 3: Retrieving Lab Results
When your patient's test results are ready we'll upload the report to our secure server
as a plain text file (see Sample) and then email you with a link to that text file. Then, you simply click
on the link in your email and a box will pop up asking for your Username and Password. After you
enter the correct Username and Password the lab report will become visible in your browser as a plain text
file. You'll also be able to click on a link which will show you all the documents in your account folder.
Step 4: Saving Lab Results
Option 1: You can "right click" on the link in your email to save the patient's lab report to your computer. If you
haven't already logged in, the Username and Password box will pop up first. You can save the plain text file
to your computer by selecting "Save Target As" and then specifying a directory folder location on your
computer.
Option 2: The second option is to simply open the lab report plain text file in your browser first, then click the
"File" pull-down menu on your tool bar, and then "Save As."
Step 5: Opening Lab Results
Once the patient's lab report plain text file is saved on your computer, you can then open it with either
a plain text editor or MS Word. We suggest opening the file with MS Word because Word will reformat the
document. Plain text editors tend to "string out" the text after a download, losing tab and paragraph
spacing. When you open the file with MS Word, be sure to select "Files by Type: All Files," so that you
may see the text file in your folder, otherwise it may be in the folder where you saved it, just not
readily viewable.
